A platform for development of products based on platelet-like particles that can be applied topically, or infused and distributed systemically, to provide for control of hemorrhage, wound management, and tissue repair. Stasix® particles are hemostatic, but can also be “loaded” with therapeutics or nano-particles for highly targeted delivery of such products to sites of bleeding and/or microphage inflammation. Stasix® particles are:

• Lyophilized into a dry powder for long-term shelf life
• Quickly rehydratable
• Immediately hemostatic upon infusion
• Virally and bacterially sterilized
• Functionally consistent
• Free from the requirement of “type” matching
